Math Lesson Plans for December 3rd- 7th
Monday: Tangram Puzzles (7.3.si.1)
Today, students will use various shapes that are discussed in chapter 10 to completely construct tangram puzzles. In this activity, students will discover that triangles can be transformed to fit all quadrilaterals.
Homework: None
Tuesday: 10-5 Quadrilaterals (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to identify and classify quadrilaterals. Students will take notes on the overhead; students will also complete practice problems from the overhead. Student will work individually to complete Practice Skills lesson 10-5 and Enrichment lesson 10-5.
Homework: textbook page 435 numbers 4-24 even only.
Wednesday: Mid- Chapter Practice
Today, students will review sections 10-1 through 10-5 in a mid- chapter practice on page 438 in textbook. Students will have a questions and answers session after completing the review.

Thursday: 10-6 Similar Figures (7.3.spi.3)
Today, students will determine whether figures are similar and find a missing length in a pair of similar figures. Students will copy notes from the overhead. Students will complete textbook page442 numbers 3-15 all.

Enriched Math Lesson Plans for November 26th- 30th
Monday: Chapter 2 Review- Mini Project
Today, students will work in groups to review the contents of chapter 2. Students will be given a section to review; groups will be responsible for making presentations to the classroom using the overhead.
Homework: Study for Vocabulary and chapter 2 test.

Today, students will continue to work in groups to review the contents of chapter 2. Monday: 10-1 Angles and 10-3 Angle Relationships (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will classify and draw angles and identify and apply angle relationships. Students will define new vocabulary words on pages 413 and 422. Students will take notes and complete in class practice problems from the overhead.
Homework: page 587 Lesson 10-1, numbers 2-18 even; and page 588 Lesson 10-4 numbers 1-6 all.

Today, students will learn to create and interpret bar graphs and histograms. Students will also learn to determine when statistics are misleading. Students will work individually to complete packet lessons 2-7 and 2-8.
Homework: Study for Vocabulary test and chapter 2 test.
Wednesday: Review for chapter 2
Today, students will review for chapter 2 test. Students will work in groups to review for chapter 2. Each group will be given a different section to cover for the chapter 2 test. Each group will have to provide examples and questions while they present their section to the class.

Thursday: Vocabulary Quiz Chapter 2
Today, students will take a vocabulary test over chapter 2. After the test, groups will continue presenting sections for the chapter 2 test on tomorrow.

Monday: 2-2 Making Predictions/ 2-5 Stem- and – Leaf Plot (7.5.spi.5 and 7)
Today, students will learn to make predictions based on given information. Students will also learn to construct and interpret stem- and leaf plots. Students will take notes and complete in- class examples on making predictions. Students will also take notes on how to construct and interpret a stem- and – leaf plot. Students will complete packet section 2-5.

Today, students will determine whether a set of triangles are congruent (based on congruence statements). Students will work individually to complete wkbk page 38 Practice side. Students will also share stories from Lesson 5-3.

Tuesday: 5-6 Similar Triangles/ Continue to read stories
Today, students will determine whether triangles are congruent, similar, or neither. Students will take notes from the overhead and complete in class practice problems before completing textbook page 216 numbers 3-17 all.

Wednesday: 5-4 Symmetry/ Finish Reading stories
Today, students will draw lines of reflection for various figures; students will also determine whether each figure has rotational symmetry. Students will be asked to complete wkbk page 37 Practice side.

Thursday: 5-7 Transformations and M.C. Escher/ Begin chapter 5 review
Today, students will use transformations to create Escher-like patterns. Students will work in groups to complete an activity that forms a tessellation. Students will also begin chapter 5 review questions on page 224 of textbook. Students will complete page 224, numbers 1-25 all.
Homework: Begin studying for chapter 5 test which will be on Tuesday of next week.
Friday: Chapter 5 review
Today, students will create review questions from each section of chapter 5. Students will be asked to work with their groups to give the class a review of the section that has been given to them. Students will do this by making an overhead transparency and going over the questions and the answers with their classmates. The teacher will give students correct answers to textbook page review.

Math Lesson Plans for October 22nd-26th
Monday: Chapter 4 Test Review/ Create a booklet for Chapter 2 Notes
Today, students will review for chapter 4. After the review, students will begin chapter 2 on Statistics: Analyzing Data. Students will create a booklet, which will aid them in organizing the notes for various types of charts and graphs for this chapter. Students will begin notes on a frequency table. Students will need to include the definitions of: statistics, data, frequency table, scale, and interval in their booklet of notes.
Homework: Study for Chapter 4 Test
Tuesday: Chapter 4 Test/ 2-1 Frequency Table (7.5.spi.7)
Today, students will take a test over chapter 4. After the test, students will learn to organize and interpret data in a frequency table. Students will complete Practice Masters from the Unit packet.

Enriched Math Lesson Plans for October 15th- 19th
Monday: Math Story
Today, students will continue to creatively write stories using the vocabulary terms that are mentioned in section 5-3 of the textbook. Students have the choice to write from any genre that they choose. Students will be asked to type this assignment at home.
Homework: None
Tuesday: Math Story
Today, students will continue to write stories using the vocabulary words from chapter 5-3. Students will do peer editing after completion of stories. Some students will share.
Homework: Rewrite stories after corrections have been made.
Wednesday: Combining Like Terms/ 5-5 Congruent Triangles
Today, students will learn to combine like terms. Students will watch a video and answer problems as the video plays. Teacher will discuss various concepts from the video for clarification purposes. Students will also copy chart on page 21. Read pages 210- 211.
Homework: Typed stories are due Friday/ textbook page 212; numbers 8-13 all.

Today, students will continue to combine like terms from the video. Students will be given a few in class practice problems to solve. Students will also continue to share math stories.

Today, students will take the mid chapter practice test for chapter 4. Students will review the answers to the practice test. Students will also play a game with index cards to review equations.

Tuesday: 4-6 Functions and Linear Equations (7.2.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to graph linear equations. Students will take notes from the overhead where they will learn the definitions of the following words: function, function table, domain, range, and linear equation. Students will complete in class practice problems with teacher; students will then complete independent practice problems on page 180 numbers 8-24 even.
Homework: page 180 numbers 9- 17 odd only.
