Enriched and Math Lesson Plans for February 11th- 5th
Monday: TCAP Coach/ 9-7 Independent and Dependent Events (7.5.spi.6)
Today, students will find the probability of independent and dependent events. Students will work in groups to complete Practice Skills 9-7 and Word Problems 9-7. Students will also complete TCAP coach skill number 5 (Numbers and Operations).

Math and Enriched Lesson Plans for February 4th- 8th
Monday: 9-2 Tree Diagrams/ TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.6)
Today, students will use tree diagrams to count outcomes and find probabilities. Students will define: fair game, tree diagram, and sample space. Students will read the section and answer questions that go along with the reading. Students will also complete Practice Skills 9-2.
Homework: Textbook page 585 Lesson 9-2; numbers 1-5 all.
Tuesday: 9-3 The Fundamental Counting Principle/ TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.6)
Today, students will use multiplication to count outcomes. Students will define: fundamental counting principal. Students will complete Pre Activity sheet 9-3 and Practice Skills 9-3.
Homework: textbook page 380 numbers 9-15 odd.
Wednesday: 9-4 Permutations/TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.9)
Today, students will find the number of permutations of a set of object. Students will define: permutation and factorial. Students will complete 9-4 Pre Activity and 9-4 Practice Skills sheet.

Monday: The Real Number System (7.1.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to identify and classify numbers in the real number system. Students will work in groups to complete textbook page 392 numbers 1-30 all.

Tuesday: 9-4 The Pythagorean Theorem (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to use the Pythagorean theorem. Students will take notes on who Pythagoras was and how he came up with his theorem. Students will complete practice questions in groups. Students will complete an activity to discover the theorem.

Today, students will learn to find missing measures in special right triangles. Students will complete an activity from the geometry workbook (in groups).

Today, students will learn to solve problems using the percent equation. Students will work individually to complete Practice Skills and Enrichment masters worksheet in class.

Monday: Review (TCAP) /This is not a grade!
Today, students will review skills from the first semester by taking a Sample Test from the TCAP review book. This test will cover all of the spi’s that we have done so far this year.
Homework: Begin studying for chapter 10 test

Today, students will review skills from the first semester by taking a Sample Test from the TCAP review book. This test will cover all of the spi’s that we have done so far this year. After students complete the test, the test will be graded( only so that the students can see what areas they need to work on). The teacher will allow students to ask questions about the problems that they did not understand. The teacher will also give students standardized test- taking strategies.

Wednesday: 10-6 (Review) and 10-7 Polygons and Tessellations (7.3.spi.4)
Today, students will learn to determine whether a shape is a polygon or if a shape will tessellate. Students will take notes on the overhead. Students will work in groups to complete Practice Skills lesson 10-6 (review) and Lesson 10-7 on polygons and Tessellations. Students will define: polygon, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon, decagon, regular polygon, and tessellation.

Today, students will graph translations and reflections of polygons on a coordinate plane. Students will work individually to complete Practice Skills lesson 10-8 and 10-9. Students will also define and discuss the following vocabulary words: transformation, translation, line symmetry, line of symmetry, and reflection.
