Math and Enriched Lesson Plans for December 10th- 14th
Monday: Review (TCAP) /This is not a grade!
Today, students will review skills from the first semester by taking a Sample Test from the TCAP review book. This test will cover all of the spi’s that we have done so far this year.
Homework: Begin studying for chapter 10 test
Tuesday: Review (TCAP) /This is not a grade!
Today, students will review skills from the first semester by taking a Sample Test from the TCAP review book. This test will cover all of the spi’s that we have done so far this year. After students complete the test, the test will be graded( only so that the students can see what areas they need to work on). The teacher will allow students to ask questions about the problems that they did not understand. The teacher will also give students standardized test- taking strategies.
Homework: Study for chapter 10 test
Wednesday: 10-6 (Review) and 10-7 Polygons and Tessellations (7.3.spi.4)
Today, students will learn to determine whether a shape is a polygon or if a shape will tessellate. Students will take notes on the overhead. Students will work in groups to complete Practice Skills lesson 10-6 (review) and Lesson 10-7 on polygons and Tessellations. Students will define: polygon, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon, decagon, regular polygon, and tessellation.
Homework: None
Thursday: 10-8 Translations/ 10-9 Reflections (7.3.spi.1)
Today, students will graph translations and reflections of polygons on a coordinate plane. Students will work individually to complete Practice Skills lesson 10-8 and 10-9. Students will also define and discuss the following vocabulary words: transformation, translation, line symmetry, line of symmetry, and reflection.
Homework: Study for the chapter 10 test on Monday.
Friday: Enriched Math- ACT test tips
Today, students will take the chapter 10 review test on pages 462- 464 numbers 1-31 all. After completion, students will go over answers in class.
Homework: Study for Chapter 10 test Monday.
