Math Lesson Plans for August 20th- 24th
Monday: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
Today, students will learn to compute efficiently with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents. Students will convert from one form to another. Students will work in groups to complete various problems given by the teacher from the overhead.
Homework: Study Notes for quiz on Wednesday; copy 5 problems from board for homework.
Tuesday: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
Today, students will continue to compute efficiently with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents. Students will complete textbook pages 575 and 576; Lessons 5-5 and 5-6. Students will turn in assignments to teacher after completion.
Homework: Study for quiz tomorrow.
Wednesday: Quiz/ Fractions Decimals and Percents
Today, students will take a quiz over fractions, decimals, and percents. Students will not be allowed to use a calculator for this quiz. After the quiz, students will be asked to read a book until everyone else finishes.
Homework: None
Thursday: Multiplying Fractions
Today, students will learn to multiply and simplify fractions. Students will be taught to multiply numerator times numerator and denominator times denominator. Students will work individually to complete practice problems given by the teacher.

Friday: Dividing Fractions
Today, students will learn to divide fractions using a method called “KFC.” KFC stands for Keep, Flip, and Change. Students will work in groups to complete problems that will be given by the teacher. Homework: Study notes on dividing fractions
