Math Lesson Plans for March 19th- 23rd
Monday: Brochures
Today, students will continue to work on brochures where they have to: use descriptive words to describe their ideal vacation spot; use mathematics to calculate discounted hotel rates; and use various, key facts ( from their social studies book) to help sell their vacation spot.
Homework: None
Tuesday: 7-7 Percent of a number
Today, students will find the percent of various numbers. Students will work individually to complete textbook page 320; numbers 4-24 all. After completion, students will compare and correct answers with groups members.
Homework: Study notes
Wednesday: 7-7 Percent of a number
Today, students will check problems from yesterday’s assignment ( page 320 numbers 4-24 all). Students will also construct and solve various problems where they have to calculate the percent of a number. Students will create problems and pass them to group members; the group members will then solve the problems. Students will use calculators for this activity.
Homework: None
Thursday: 7-8 The Percent Proportion
Today, students will solve problems using the percent proportion. Students will use the formula part/base = percent/ 100. Students will work individually to complete practice worksheet lesson 7-8.
Homework: page 325 numbers 3-18 all.
Friday: 7-8 The Percent Proportion
Today, students will continue to solve problems using the percent proportion. Students will work in groups to create 5 problems and make small presentations to the class using the overhead.
Homework: None; have a great weekend!
