Enriched Math Lesson Plans for February 12th- 16th
* students should be prepared to have a pop quiz over any skill that is being covered or reviewed.
Monday: Area, Perimeter, and Volume (7.4.si.1)
Today, students will calculate the area, perimeter, and volume of various figures. Students will complete 8th grade textbook page 488 numbers 4-22 all. After completion, students will check for correct answers.
Homework: Study notes on area, perimeter, and volume.
Tuesday: 11-1 Area of a Circle (7.4.spi.5)
Today, students will find the area of a circle. Students will work in groups to complete textbook page 478 numbers 1-20 all. Students will use a calculator for this lesson. After completion, students will discuss answers and make corrections to problems.
Homework: Bring toilet paper roll to class for Friday
Wednesday: 11-4 Volume of Pyramids and Cones (7.4.spi.6)
Today, students will learn to find the volume of pyramids and cones. Students will work in groups to complete textbook page 492 numbers 1-17 all. After completion, students will correct all answers.
Homework: Study Notes/ Bring toilet paper roll to class for Friday
Thursday: TCAP Practice workbook
Today, students will practice skills that will be assessed on the TCAP. After completing TCAP practice skills, students will be asked to read a book silently.
Homework: Study notes/ Bring toilet paper roll to class tomorrow.
Friday: 11-6 Surface Area of Cylinders (7.4.spi.5)
Today, students will learn to calculate the surface area of cylinders. Students will work in groups to complete mini lab on page 499. Students will need to bring a toilet paper roll to class for this activity. Students will need: toilet paper roll, ruler, and scissors.
