Enriched Math Lesson Plans for January 22nd-26th

Monday: Numbers and Operations Activities (7.1.spi 2 and8)
Today, students will work in groups on various enrichment activities involving numbers and operations. Students will complete magic squares, diamonds, circles, and tic- tac- toe activities in class. Students will work with their groups to solve problems. Students will have an opportunity to earn bonus points.

Tuesday: Solving for a Specific Variable (Incorporated Science Lesson) ( 7.1.spi.2 and
Today, students will manipulate equations for volume, mass, and density. Students will be given one formula and will be asked to solve for the other formulas based off of one. Students will have to calculate problems given certain values for density, mass, or volume.

Wednesday: Solving for a Specific Variable (7.2.spi.5. and 7)
Today, students will continue to manipulate equations by solving for a specific variable. Students will work individually to solve various problems where they will have to eliminate all variables accept the variable that they must solve for; this will help students to understand the concept of operating with more than one variable.

Thursday: Review (Numbers and Operations) ( 7.2.spi.5 and 7)
Today, students will go to the computer lab and work on think link assessment skill numbers and operations. Students will take a teacher- made test to better enhance the level of mastery in this area. After the test, students will go over answers and make corrections.

Friday: ACT prep (extra enrichment)
Today, students will work on skills and strategies for TCAP/ ACT test taking. Students will work on how to solve various problems and choose the best possible answer when taking a standardized test. Students will learn how to maximize time so that they will have ample time for test completion.
