Enriched Math Lesson Plans for November 13th- 17th

Monday: Review Assignment (7.2.spi.1)
Today, students will complete review assignment in textbook; students will complete page 14 numbers 14-31 all. After the assignment, students will complete Thursday’s assignment- page 71 numbers 16-38 all and page 35 numbers 12-26 even.
Homework: None

Tuesday: 5-1 Parallel Lines (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to identify and construct lines that are parallel; students will identify and construct angles formed by parallel lines and transversals. Students will work individually to complete textbook page 191 numbers 1-24 all.
Homework: Copy Problems from textbook page 617 Lesson 5-1 numbers 1-6 all.

Wednesday: 5-1 Parallel Lines/ Video “ All About Angles” (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will watch a video on angles to reinforce skills taught from the previous day. After the video, students will continue to practice problems in 8th grade workbook on page 34 Practice Side.

Thursday: 5-1 Parallel Lines/ 5-2Classifying Triangles (7.3.spi.2 and 6)
Today, students will learn to classify triangles by their angles and their sides and to find measures of missing angles in triangles. Students will go over terms: polygon, triangle, acute, right, obtuse, scalene, isosceles, equilateral, perpendicular, complementary, and angles. Students will work individually to complete textbook page 198 and 199 numbers 6- 21 al.

Friday: 5-2 Classifying Triangles (7.3.spi.2 and 6)/ Quiz
Today, students will continue to classify triangles. Students will work in groups to complete 8th grade workbook page 35 Practice Side. After students complete the workbook page, students will take a short quiz over parallel lines and classifying triangles. Students will be handed a worksheet for Monday on Properties of Quadrilaterals ( taken from Geometry workbook page 39)
